PV State of Mind: 5 Tips for Self- Care

Self- care has never been more important! It’s time to take some well deserved ‘me- time,’ PV fans! Here are 5 tips to do just that, all while rockin’ the newest PV styles, of course!

Tip 1: Use your spare time to journal! Life’s usual commitments may not be there right now, but that means it’s time to commit to yourself! Spend a few minutes each day to reflect on what we have to be thankful for.

Tip 2: Take advantage of this at- home time by snuggling up to all of your furry friends. They are always there for us in times of need, and now we have time to return the favor!

Tip 3: Make sure you are still getting a daily dose of Vitamin D! Eat your breakfast in your backyard, or go on a walk! Sunlight is known to increase serotonin, which directly affects your mood and feeling calm and focused.

Tip 4: We can’t stress this enough! YOGA! Yoga is known to improve respiration, energy and vitality. 10 minutes of yoga or meditation in the morning can make all the difference on your day!

Tip 5: Be patient with yourself during this time! We’re all dealing with completely unchartered territory, so give yourself the time you need to create a new temporary norm.

    One of the most important things that you can do when trying to keep your self-care a priority is to be realistic about your progress. Take a close look at your daily routine to determine what you can feasibly get done in one day. While it may seem great to go to work, rush to a work out class, cook a healthy meal, do your full skincare routine with a face mask, meditate for 20 minutes, write in your journal and go to sleep at a decent time everyday so that you’re achieving your self-care goals, it can become too stressful when you feel overloaded or guilty if you can’t do it all. Putting an organized system in place, such as scheduling your self-care plans ahead of time and sticking to it is a good idea. But don’t worry if your work schedule or hobbies interfere with your scheduled self-care time occasionally. Being realistic and forgiving yourself if things get out of whack is a big part of self-care. Try to accept that things might not always go as planned and you shouldn’t beat yourself up about it. You can always try again tomorrow.
