Healthy Spinach and Egg Toast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so we are always looking for new ways to keep it healthy and delicious. We wanted to get a little creative for this recipe while still including some of our favorite ingredients! Follow along to learn how to make your new favorite toast. We are obsessed!

Ingredients:

  1. Whole grain toast
  2. 2 cups of spinach
  3. Boiled egg
  4. Minced onions, salt, red pepper flakes, olive oil
  5. Almond slivers

Begin by:

  • toasting your bread
  • saute the spinach and minced onions together
  • boil your egg and wait for it to fully cook

Once you have done all that, add the spinach on top of the toast. Next, slice the egg and place on top of the spinach. Finish it off by sprinkling the sliced almonds, salt, red pepper flakes and olive oil to the top.

Central Park Picnic

Started off the Fall season in the best way we knew how! We took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed off to have lunch in Central Park. It doesn’t get any more picture perfect than this! With all of our favorite snacks present and lots of lemonade, we enjoyed the company of one another! Tons of laughs, polaroids taken, and popcorn fights were had. What better way to spend a cool, crisp afternoon in New York City? I think we all agreed that there truly couldn’t have been a dreamier picnic. It was straight out of a story book! We even had other people stop by to take photos of the beautiful spread!

Time spent with friends is never wasted!

Pineapple bowl

With this refreshing snack, you’ll feel like you’re on a tropical island vacay! It’s sure to keep your tummy happy and healthy. You don’t always have to set aside your health to get a nice sweet treat. This pineapple bowl is exactly what we needed to curve our sweet tooth craving without loading up on bad foods. Follow along to see how we made it!

Ingredients: 

  1. Pineapple
  2. Bananas
  3. Kiwi
  4. Granola
  5. Honey
  6. Plain greek yogurt

Begin by cutting the pineapple in half and gutting one side to use it as the bowl.

Next, fill it with the plain greek yogurt. We went with plain yogurt because there’s less sugar and since we are using a nice juicy pineapple, the natural sugars from the fruit will make add all the yummy sweetness we need!

Next come the toppings!

We used bananas, kiwi and granola.

Last but not least, drizzle the top with honey!

Green Breakfast Smoothie

We are always looking for quick grab-n-go breakfast options. Mornings can be super busy and hectic, so if we can simplify our breakfast routine in any way we will! These green smoothies are the perfect thing to give you the nutrients and energy you need for the day.

Supplies:

  1. Almond milk
  2. Spinach
  3. Chia seeds
  4. Peanut butter powder
  5. 1 fresh banana + 1 frozen banana

1 cup of almond milk

A handful or 2 of spinach

After the spinach, add 1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds.

1 fresh banana and 1 frozen banana

Lastly add a 1/2 cup of peanut butter powder. Next, blend all together! If you would prefer a thinker consistency, add some ice.

Top it off with some chia seeds and frozen raspberries. Yum!

Chia Seed Pudding

Chia seeds have incredible health benefits for our bodies. They are a great protein source, high in nutrients and provide a great amount of energy and endurance to keep you going throughout your day. Another plus? These seeds will keep you full for HOURS! This recipe is so yummy and so simple! You can have these ready in about 20 minutes or leave in the fridge over night.

What you will need:

  1. 1 cup of almond milk or coconut milk
  2. 1/2 cup of chia seeds
  3. frozen berries
  4. 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  5. 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
  6. Organic honey, 100% Maple syrup, Stevia or any other sort of natural sweetener

Start by blending the frozen berries then adding them to the jar you will put your finished pudding in.

Once you have placed all of the frozen berry puree in the bottom of the jar, set it aside.

Grab a new container to make the pudding in. Start by pouring in your almond milk and chia seeds first. Then mix.

Next, mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon, along with your sweetener of choice. MIX!

Cover and set in the fridge for about 20 minutes or leave over night to have in the morning for breakfast! Once the pudding is done setting, take your original jar with the frozen berry puree and pour your chia seed pudding in.

Healthy Banana Cinnamon Pancakes

All hail the healthy version of pancakes! Okay, so sometimes you cant’ give up some foods– like sweet fluffy pancakes. SO we have a solution that won’t make you feel icky afterwards. These pancakes are totally made of bananas and eggs. Follow along to get all the deets!

What you will need:

  1. Two bananas
  2. Two eggs
  3. Strawberries
  4. Cinnamon

Start by mashing both bananas up as best you can.

In a separate bowl, whisk two eggs together.

Once whisked, add to the bananas.

Mix both ingredients!

Add in about a tablespoon and a half of cinnamon.

Mix well then pour into skillet. We added a few strawberries to ours! YUM!

Beach Yoga Flow

Relax and free your mind. Getting started with a new year and new priorities can be a lot to load on your plate and can take a toll on your body and mind. It’s important to set goals, but dont forget to take care of yourself along the way. Did you know most of the stress we endure is brought on by ourselves? We decided to un-fog our mind and let free for a bit during an evening beach yoga session.

Garlic Lime Shrimp Wraps

If you’re anything like us, we love fresh eats! So, here’s a recipe that’s sure to satisfy any craving. These lettuce wraps are healthy, simple, fast & perfect for on the go, too!

Here’s what you’ll need:

-Lettuce

-Shrimp

-Avocado

-Pico de gallo

-Garlic + lime

Start by adding your shrimp to a pan on medium heat. Add a tablespoon of mixed garlic and a few pinches of salt and pepper. Let that cook for 5-10 minutes. Set aside when ready.

Begin to spread your avocado all over your lettuce wrap. Sprinkle lime, salt and pepper all over.

Non bake organic power bar

A healthy lifestyle is so crucial. What most people don’t know is that being healthy doesn’t have to be hard. Don’t be overwhelmed- you can take small steps in the right direction. It’s good for the body to get in exercise on a regular basis. But most of us know that energy is much needed to take on any sort of physical activity. Going to your local grocery store to pick out a few protein bars can be good and all, but those tend to have a lot of hidden sugars and artificial fillers. So, instead we decided to make our own! An organic power bar filled with a ton of nutrients to give you the energy you need!

Ingredients:

-3 cups of organic granola cereal. (We chose a ceral that not only had granola, but wheat flakes, sliced almonds and sun-dried fruit!)

-1/2 cup of organic crunchy peanut butter (or any nut butter you prefer)

-1/2 cup of pure, organic honey

-1/2 cup of chocolate chips (go ahead and freeze these to keep them from totally melting when ready to add to your mix)

Flu + cold remedy

This season is a huge one for viruses and yucky colds. Nobody wants to feel weak and down in the dumps. We have a DIY at home remedy that’s sure to kick your immune system back into gear! An easy one too. SO easy that you most likely have all these ingredients in your cabinet already!

Here’s what you need to get started:

-1 cup of water (to boil)

-Organic apple cider vinegar (1 tablespoon)

-Cinnamon (about 2 pinches)

-Honey (1 teaspoon)

Start by bringing your water to a boil. PB Chocolate Nice-cream

But as this new year continues we are wanting to take steps in the healthier direction. What if I told you that we have a ice cream alternative that’s HEALTHY. Say what?! Today, we will walk you step by step on how to make Peanut butter chocolate nice cream.

Let’s get started!

What you’ll need:

-At least 2 frozen bananas. (If they are not frozen, this will not work. We broke up the bananas into several pieces and stored in a tuba wear dish.)

– 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

-1 1/2- 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter

-blender

Need a quick way to warm up and reenergize during these cold months? We have just the thing. A Coffee Bath! Coffee Baths are nourishing for dry skin and they smell AMAZING. Take some time to pamper yourself. You deserve it!
