November 9, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

With the holidays coming in quick we are in DIY heaven! What’s better than personalized gifts? Make every present special this holiday season by putting your own personal spin to it. All my favorite gifts have been handmade. These gift boxes are also the perfect thing to gift Puravida Bracelets in. Make them for birthdays, holidays or any other special occasion. Let’s get started!

What you will need:

  1. Craft paper
  2. String
  3. Tape, scissors
  4. Tags and any other accessories you want to use to decorate
  5. Stensil provided

Begin by tracing the stencil onto your craft paper.

Use scissors to cut out the correct shape of the stencil.

The dotted lines in the stencil will guide you on where to fold your cutout. Once you have folded it into a box, use tape to secure the edges.

Use yarn or string to wrap around the box. Along with other decorations to add to the top!

Have fun and get creative to make it personal to the person you are giving it to!

Lavender Rosemary Air-freshener

August 26, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

I’m always on the hunt for new scents. The aroma of your home or room can be crucial. Not only for the enjoyment of the smell itself, but also the benefits. Lavender for example can help ease the mind and relax your body. Today, I am going to be making my very own DIY essential oil air-freshener. This is perfect for any of you new college students to use in your dorm since you can’t burn candles in your rooms. I decided to use lavender and rosemary oils. I think most can all agree that those 2 marry so well! However, feel free to use any scent you like. Let’s get started!

What you will need:

  1. Essential oil(s) of choice
  2. Baking soda
  3. Dried fruit or flowers ( I got mine from an herbal tea bag)
  4. Mini mason jar

Begin by first adding 4 tablespoons of baking soda. Or until the mason jar is filled half way.

Now add about 2-3 tablespoons of the essential oils.

Time for the dried flowers and fruit. We added this in the mix, but also saved a little bit to add to the top for decoration.

Mix all together. The consistency of the mixture should be pasty. If it’s too runny add more baking soda. If it’s too think add a bit more oil.

Last step, remove the center part of the mason jar lid. You will then cut out around the shape of the lid. Once you have the circular cut out, place it on the inside of the lid.

It should look like this! This will allow the scent to come through nicely.

Don’t forget to add a few more sprinkles of the dried fruit and flowers on top!

Place anywhere in your room or house!

Seashell wall hanging

July 18, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

I think by now, you all know how much I love wall hangings. I think it’s so much fun to change up your space just with a few materials. Not to mention how easy it is! Today, I am going to show you how to make this adorable seashell wall hanging– Perfect for the summer time! Hang this in your room or bathroom. This is also a great way to get creative with your seashell collection. I have WAY too many to keep ahold of, so this craft allowed me to show off my favorites!

Here is what you’ll need

  1. Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  2. Seashells
  3. Fishing wire
  4. Twig/stick
  5. Scissors

Begin by spacing out your shells the way you want them to hang. Do this before gluing them onto the fishing wire.

Next, measure how long you will need your fishing wire to be. This part will totally depend on your preference when it comes to how far apart you want your shells to be. Cut them all the same length.

Once the string has been cut, tie one end of each string to the top of the stick. Place two dots of hot glue on the back of the seashells. One dot of glue being at the top, and the other at the bottom of the shell.

Let all the hot glue dry, then you are free to hang it up anywhere! We are LOVING this beachy look.

Ah, summer is back and live in action! We can’t wait to hit the beaches and bask in the summer sun! Who else is ready for school to be officially over? Relaxing in the sand is something I never get tired of. I am always, always wearing a beachy wrist and I am here today to share a few of my FAVORITE stacks and bracelets. Here are a few other bracelets and charms that I LOVE pairing with the wave bracelets.

Moving right along, the mini anchors are always a classic pick! Nothing says “beach babe” more than this super cute charm! My favorite color it comes in is the seafoam green.

Okay, so maybe I wear too much blue? But who doesn’t in the summer months? Here, I’m wearing my favorite original bracelet.

Last but not least! You guys always ask what my favorite bracelets are. Well here you have it! The Gold Hammered Flat Bar Cream + the Seed Bead Blush.

DIY Planter

March 5, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

If you’re anything like me, you drink A LOT of coffee! I noticed that  I was going through so many cans. So, I decided to do a little craft and recycle my empty coffee cans. Why not make something beautiful out of them? I thought about it and I am also always needing new pots for all my plants. Well, these make for the perfect planter. You just need a few supplies to turn this empty coffee can, into an adorable planter.

What you will need:

  1. Empty coffee can
  2. Hot glue gun + glue
  3. Jute
  4. White spray paint

Start by totally cleaning out your coffee can + removing the label. Then lay out newspaper or craft paper outside + spray paint it!

Once totally covered, let dry for about 15 min!

Next step: add a dab of hot glue in the back of the can. Start there and secure the first end of the jute. Once the glue has dried, begin to wrap the jute all the way around the top of the can. We went all the way down until we reached the next groove in the can. Then glue that end.

Do the same steps to the bottom section.

This is what it should look like when all the jute has been added.

DIY Sweatshirt

February 8, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

We are all about latest trends, but we’re also all about taking those trends and making it our own. Today we will show you how to take a plain ol’ sweatshirt and spice it up to create a whole new look.

What you’ll need:

-An old sweater and sweatshirt

-Scissors and a razor blade

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Start by cutting around the neck of the shirt.

Take a white pencil and trace what you want your neckline to look like. We are cutting a deep V in ours.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Next, cut along the white line you drew.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Step one is done! Now off to step two. We are now going to cut slits in the shirt. Be intentional about where you choose to cut the holes. You don’t want to add too many.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Go in with a razor blade and gently take it across the fabric to create frays. Do this on the cut outs and wherever else you want.

January 31, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

Store your jewelry in style! Today on the blog we are going to walk you step by step on how to make the cutest ring holders. If you’re anything like me, you have far TOO many rings. At the end of the day I tend to usually just throw my rings in a dish, but let me tell ya… that dish is a little passed full and totally overflowing. Now, I have plenty of room to store all my rings safely and fashionably! Your rings are gonna soon look amazing on AND off!

Supplies you’ll need:

-Oven safe clay

-Acrylic paints

-Glossy top coat

-Different size paint brushes

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Start by rolling your clay into a ball. Begin to roll out into a long tube shape. Next, begin to knead the clay until you get it to the cone shape of your liking.

I decided to make mine a few different sizes to keep it interesting. Once you have formed your cones, stick them in the oven at 300 degrees. Let bake for about 15 minutes.

Once you have baked the clay cones for 15 minutes. Pull out of the oven and let cool. Now for the fun part, PAINTING TIME! I went with a metallic gold and bronze and a little bit of black here and there.  You can get as creative as you like! Feel free to make your cones match your style and paint them using any colors or patterns!
