Because I am able to see what I have to do visually, it allows my brain to process it and keep all my tasks in order. Staying organized is essential durning these summer months. I tend to want to slack off a bit during summertime, and we all know life doesn’t slow down just because the school year is out! Make this quick DIY To-Do list to keep your responsibilities in check!

Supplies:

Begin by cutting the craft paper into an oval shape. Then, trace the oval craft paper onto the cork board. Cut the cork board oval out.

You should be left with this.

Glue the craft paper onto the cork board using mod podge.

If you’re anything like me, you drink A LOT of coffee! I noticed that  I was going through so many cans. So, I decided to do a little craft and recycle my empty coffee cans. Why not make something beautiful out of them? I thought about it and I am also always needing new pots for all my plants. Well, these make for the perfect planter. You just need a few supplies to turn this empty coffee can, into an adorable planter.

What you will need:

  1. Empty coffee can
  2. Hot glue gun + glue
  3. Jute
  4. White spray paint

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Start by totally cleaning out your coffee can + removing the label. Then lay out newspaper or craft paper outside + spray paint it!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Once totally covered, let dry for about 15 min!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Next step: add a dab of hot glue in the back of the can. Start there and secure the first end of the jute. Once the glue has dried, begin to wrap the jute all the way around the top of the can. We went all the way down until we reached the next groove in the can. Then glue that end.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Do the same steps to the bottom section.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

This is what it should look like when all the jute has been added.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Now, time to plant!! How perfect?!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Set out, and enjoy! What plant did you decide to use?

Feather Candle Holder

March 5, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

IMG_5695-960x1440.jpg

We’re always looking for new ways to add to our space. The more the better! What are your favorite accessories in your room? We think this may be your new favorite! It’s a super simple glass cylinder wrapped in boho feathers. Set a candle in it and whoa, watch your space GLOW up! SO beautiful. Follow along and watch how to make!

What you will need:

  1. Glass cylinder
  2. Feathers
  3. Hot glue gun + glue
  4. Scissors
  5. Candle + candle holder

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Step one: Pick a place to begin on the jar. Start by snipping the end of the feather. You want to leave just a little bit, but majority should be cut off for the best result.

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Put a dab of hot glue at the bottom where you will secure the end of the feather stem.

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Continue to do this all the way around. We thought it looked best to use a variety of feathers when gluing around the vase.

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Once you have covered the glass cylinder, put the candle in the center and place anywhere in your room! We decided to pair ours with a few crystals and salt lamp.

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Do you love it as much as we do??

DIY Sweatshirt

February 8, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

IMG_4731-960x1440.jpg

We are all about latest trends, but we’re also all about taking those trends and making it our own. Today we will show you how to take a plain ol’ sweatshirt and spice it up to create a whole new look.

What you’ll need:

-An old sweater and sweatshirt

-Scissors and a razor blade

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Start by cutting around the neck of the shirt.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Take a white pencil and trace what you want your neckline to look like. We are cutting a deep V in ours.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Next, cut along the white line you drew.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Step one is done! Now off to step two. We are now going to cut slits in the shirt. Be intentional about where you choose to cut the holes. You don’t want to add too many.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Go in with a razor blade and gently take it across the fabric to create frays. Do this on the cut outs and wherever else you want.

Feather Wall Hanging

January 26, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

IMG_3956-1-960x1440.jpg

Fill your space with indie vides with this DIY feather wall hanging. Perfect for a rainy day craft when you’re stuck inside. Whether you are wanting to add to the atmosphere of your bedroom or fill in a gap, this will work perfectly. It’s small size makes it easy to place anywhere, as well! All you’ll need are a few different materials. You can totally get creative and personalize this to fit you also. We chose to work with some jute, lace, gold ribbons and some feathers!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

We started in the middle and worked our way to the outside. Choose which material you want to work with first, and secure it to the top by knotting it. Feel free to make your strands as long or as short as you would like. You can also decide whether you want your strands to be in a pattern or random. We thought it would be funky to just go for it and place our materials at random!!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Add some texture by braiding some of the different pieces together!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

It can become repetitive, so the more texture the better!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Once you cut your pieces to the length you like, add a feather at the end of select strands! Just secure the feather by double knotting it to the end of your string.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Double up some layers, braid here and there and BAM! There ya have it. SO cute, right? To hang, cut a piece of jute long enough to stretch end to end with enough slack to hang at your preferred length. Then just tack it up!
