April 22, 2015 — by Griffin Thall

Hey PV fans!  We want to give you an exclusive sneak peek of one of the newest and most insane music festivals that we have ever seen – the Your Paradise Festival!  The festival had its inaugural event last year on one of Fiji’s most beautiful islands, Malolo Lailai. This year’s festival will take place November 17-23, with festival packages going on sale on May 18th.

Taking place over six days and five nights, you can soak in all of the spectacular performances as well as set sail on boat parties and find some of the more intimate shows at the pool and sand bank stages. Last year’s event even included Jack Beats as one of the performers.

Check out the video and photo gallery below to get a small taste of what happened last year and what is in store for this year!

What does Pura Vida Mean?

September 22, 2014 — by Griffin Thall

A phrase that you will hear and see everywhere in Costa Rica is “Pura Vida”. The term “Pura Vida” has been present in Costa Rica’s vocabulary for over 50 years. It’s English translation means “pure life”  or “simple life”, however its more then just a phrase- it is a way of life.
Where did this phrase originally come from? People believe that the term “Pura Vida” came around in 1956 after a Mexican movie entitled “Pura Vida!” was released. In the movie, the main character uses the phrase throughout the movie to stay optimistic, happy, and full of life, despite all the negative circumstances around him. Thanks to this movie, the phrase “Pura Vida” is the unofficial motto to one of the happiest countries on Earth.
Pura Vida is so much more then just a phrase, it is their culture and way of life. Costa Ricans (Ticos) use this term to say hello, goodbye, or even to let people know everything’s good! Costa Ricans don’t just let the term bring them a good life, it’s the way they use it in their everyday attitude to make them happy. “Pura Vida” means that people need to be grateful for the things they do have in life, instead of dwelling on the negative things that they don’t. The phrase shows that no matter how bad you may think you have it, life for someone else can be far more less fortunate then your own. Life is too short to be worried and upset, everyone needed to make the most of life! All in all, the locals strive to live a stress free, laid-back life and they believe that their motto “Pura Vida” perfectly exemplifies how the locals live. Costa Ricans feel that if more “foreigners” grasped this concept, the world would be a lot happier.
“Pura Vida” is the back bone to this company. We believe in a pure and happy life, and that our company and products can bring that to many people around the world. Our products can make a big impact in customers lives, whether its helping their favorite charity, or creating their own bracelet and being a voice behind our brand. Wanderlust Wednesday: Greek Islands

May 14, 2014 — by Griffin Thall

Known for their extra virgin olive oil, seafood, cheese, wine, and greek yogurt. Okay, not so much the yogurt but they are known for having almost 6,000 islands sprinkled throughout the east Mediterranean. Many of those are no longer inhabited and most of them are petite in size, but all of them are beautiful beyond words to describe. After doing research on a few hidden islands, I have never wanted my own island more than ever before. Avoid the crowds and escape on a Mediterranean paradise with these three hidden Greek Islands gems.

1. Alonissos
The island is about three mile wide and twelve miles long and with less than 3,000 people living on the island. While the beaches are covered in smooth pebbles, the water is crystal clear. You can travel here from Athens by car and then a short ferry over. For more information visit here!

2. Koufonisia

This island is an eight hour ferry ride from Piraeus but once you’re on the island, there’s cliff jumping, nude beaches, and amazing seafood. It was once a well kept secret to tourists and other Greek islands but now August becomes so packed you’re better visiting Mykonos. For more information visit here!

3. Ikaria
This is the ultimate hidden gem! All those pictures you’ve seen of waves with huge well-like openings and crystal clear water is this island right here. There is no concept of time or days when you’re on this island because it’s as if life has been set back to default and you’re stuck in paradise. For more information visit here!
