Hey PV fans!  We want to give you an exclusive sneak peek of one of the newest and most insane music festivals that we have ever seen – the Your Paradise Festival!  The festival had its inaugural event last year on one of Fiji’s most beautiful islands, Malolo Lailai. This year’s festival will take place November 17-23, with festival packages going on sale on May 18th.

Taking place over six days and five nights, you can soak in all of the spectacular performances as well as set sail on boat parties and find some of the more intimate shows at the pool and sand bank stages. Last year’s event even included Jack Beats as one of the performers.

Check out the video and photo gallery below to get a small taste of what happened last year and what is in store for this year!

The Takeaway: What We Can Learn from Music Festivals

March 11, 2015 — by Griffin Thall

Header11.jpg

Who doesn’t love a good party? And when you throw in some of the world’s best DJs, locations and thousands of amped up festival go-ers, you’ve got a recipe for fun. Here’s what we can learn from music festivals:

Keep an open mind. You may go into a festival with the goal of seeing musicians and DJs you’ve loved forever, but always leave room to explore new music and genres. Just like in life, open up to the possibilities for new and different experiences. You never know what you might like and the interesting people you may meet encounter!

Dance like no one’s watching. It sounds so cliche, but letting go of the fear of being judged on how you express yourself is a very liberating experience. So dance however you want to dance as much as you can!

Enjoy the music and live free. Listening to music is scientifically proven to elevate our moods and decrease stress. It reminds us to be present and really “tune in” to the moment whether we’re by ourselves or with 10,000 or our closest party friends.

It’s all about good vibes and great people. Sometimes music festivals get a bad reputation, but it’s actually the opposite. Everyone you meet is there to have a good time, be happy and have fun. And isn’t this how we should wake up feeling every day? Whether we’re at Coachella or getting out of bed on a Monday morning, we should be excited to be living and look forward to every day.

7 Reasons Why Music Rocks

March 6, 2015 — by Griffin Thall

IG-Header1.jpg

Music is life. The right song at the right time can uplift anyone and make us feel like we can do anything! It’s always there when we need it, knowing the exact words to say and how to say them. We love music and here’s why:

  1. Hearing our favourite song will always make us smile.
  2. Music equals dancing. And dancing equals FUN. Whether at the club, at a music festival or alone in your bedroom, swaying and jumping around with the volume on high is a guaranteed good time.
  3. No matter how sad or mad we are, Taylor Swift heals all. At 15, 22 or any age really, times get tough and no amount of chocolate ice cream will make us feel better. Music has a way of speaking to our pain and problems better than any BFF and we’re thankful to all the talented musicians out there for helping us heal and move on.
  4. Science also says music rocks. Studies have shown that listening to tunes can help us focus, workout harder, calm nerves and increase chemicals in our brain that cheer us up.
  5. Music helps us remember the good times. Our first dance, our first road trip or that summer we spent at the beach, we could curate a soundtrack to our lives all thanks to those songs that play in the background while life’s greatest moments happen.
  6. One word: Karaoke. Need we say more?
  7. There will always be music. There is an infinite combination of words, melodies and notes to last more than a lifetime. Genres come and go, new artists emerge and old songs become captured treasures. With the simple press of the play button, we’ll be taken to new places, reminded of old memories, experience great emotions and rock on forever!

Pura Vida x CRSSD Fest

February 24, 2015 — by Griffin Thall

We linked up with our friends at Brightside to curate three massive playlists to get you prepped and ready for CRSSD Fest. San Diego, stand up, because a handful of the biggest names in house, techno, disco, and indie-electronic music will be gracing the Waterfront Park on March 14 & 15.

Ocean View Live Stage

This bad boy will be home to all of your live shows over the weekend. I personally can’t imagine a more perfect world, where acts like Empire of the Sun, Chromeo, Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons, and Lido all share the same stage. This one’s prepped to bring the house down, so get acquainted with some of the tracks you’re likely to hear played out.

The Palms Stage

Get all of your house, future and tropical vibes from The Palms stage. With heavy hitters like Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones going up to bat with newcomers like SNBRN and Thomas Jack, this stage will be going bananas (and pineapples) all weekend long.

City Steps Stage

All things techno and hard-hitting house come to play at the City Steps stage. Legends such as Maceo Plex, Pete Tong, a few Dirtybirds and a blistering bunch of dancefloor killers will be putting four to the floor for 48-hours. If you’re a sunglass-wearing, low-light lurking techno junkie, we probably won’t see you at any other stage all weekend.

We hope you enjoy — maybe learn a thing or two — from these playlists brought to you by Brightside and Pura Vida. Hope to see you all at CRSSD Fest, grab your tickets below.

We all know those sleepless nights when you have too much on your mind and sitting in silence only intensifies tangents of thought. The influence of music can sometimes be underestimated, it’s a temporary escape and can alter any mood. If you find yourself lying awake in the middle of the night, the hypnotizing voices of Banks and Ryn Weaver will help you clear your mind.
