Last Friday we finally got to show off our amazing new HQ to our family and friends at our Grand Opening house warming party! From the food and the cocktails to a DIY denim bar with our PV pins and patches, check out why this night was one for the books!

Drinks from Snake Oil Cocktail

First of all, we want to give a huge shoutout to Snake Oil Cocktail for creating the most beautiful cocktails for our party! Snake Oil specializes in incredible cocktail graffiti, and our guests were definitely wowed with how amazing these cocktails not only looked, but also how they tasted. We couldn’t have been happier to have them be a part of our big night, and they definitely played a huge role in getting the party started!

Food by Elevation Eating

If there ever was a food spread that radiated Pura Vida’s vibe, this is definitely it. Perla from Elevation Eating couldn’t have showcased Pura Vida better in her amazing spread for our party. It’s safe to say everyone was blown away with how incredible everything tasted on top of the tropical presentation of this spread! There was hummus, jalapeño dip (yum!), caprese bites, fruits, veggies, and everything wholesome and delicious, which was the perfect grab and go bites to have during our party.

Donut Bar

How else would we combat a delicious, healthy spread other than with donuts?! Life’s all about balance, right? When it came to party planning, having a donut bar was #1 on the list, so we had to make it happen, of course. From cinnamon crumb (yes please) to vanilla sprinkle, maple, and chocolate, there was an assortment of melt in your mouth donuts for each one of our guests.

Sample Bar

What kind of party would it be if we didn’t offer goodie bags for our guests? We were thankful enough to have some amazing sponsors who let our guests try out their products, which are some of our favorite things! We had coconut mini melts and lip glossies from Kopari – anything coconut oil is always a must-have. Amavara shared some of their sunscreen, which is a zinc-oxide formula that’s reef safe, free of nasty chemicals found in other sunscreens, and safe for the environment and your body. Coola provided some after sun lotion and face setting spray, both necessities for the summer. GoMacro also provided our guests with mini bars for a quick and easy snack on the go! We also had some hard kombucha from JuneShine (a definite crowd favorite) and easy canned cocktails from CutWater Spirits for everyone to enjoy throughout the night.

Photo Booth From Selfie Station

There’s no better way to remember a night than with photos! We want to give another huge thank you to Lucy with Selfie Station for making that possible for our party. Throughout the night, guests were lining up to take photos at the photo booth, which was able to print out your photos immediately to take home and keep for the memories!

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate!

Overall, it was such an incredible night to share our space with loved ones, and even better to see everyone mingling and enjoying themselves. We are so blessed for everyone who made this night possible, and can’t wait for the next one!

Cinco De Mayo DIY

It’s that time of year again! Yay for more celebrations. We wanted to bring some color to the table and find a fun way to display some treats for all our friends who will be coming over to join the fiesta! Follow along to see how we made these fun sombreros!

What you will need:

  1. 3 clay pot with clay tray
  2. pom poms
  3. craft paint
  4. hot glue
  5. paint pen
  6. M&M’s

Paint your pots red, green and yellow. Place the pots upside down on the trays to mimic a sombrero.

Allow them to dry. Once the paint is totally done drying, hot glue the pom poms around the brim of the tray.

Next, take a paint pen and draw zig zags around the bottom of the pot.

Now time for the best part– the candy! Add in the m&m’s around the brim of the sombrero.

Place on party table so guests can enjoy!

It’s sunny with a chance of sprinkles! But these are the yummy kind of sprinkles. “Weather” you’re looking to decorate a one-year-old’s birthday party, planning a baby shower or just looking for some sweet and salty treats, Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods, Pink Pineapple Punch and Birthday Cake Popcorn are easy-to-make treats!

Here are a few fun recipes for the perfect sunshine birthday party:

Chocolate Dipped Pretzels with Sprinkles

Photo-Aug-15,-1-51-29-PM

Ingredients:

1 12-ounce package milk chocolate chips
1 12-ounce package white chocolate chips
24 large pretzel rods
Pink sprinkles

Directions:

1) Place the milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and the white chocolate chips in another (if you are making both kinds of chocolate). Microwave one bowl on 50% for 1 minute. Remove and stir with a rubber spatula (the chips should melt while you are stirring, but if they don’t, you can continue to microwave for 30 more seconds on high, then stir again.) Continue with 30 second intervals on high to get it to a nice smooth and melted consistency. Wash and dry the spatula. Do the same with the other bowl of chocolate.

2) Dip one pretzel rod into the milk chocolate; use a spoon or butter knife to spread the chocolate about halfway up the rod (we used a tall glass to dip the long pretzels). Twist the rod to let the excess chocolate drip off. Hold the rod over a piece of wax paper and shake sprinkles on all sides. Place the pretzel on another piece of wax paper to dry. Coat another pretzel with white chocolate and sprinkles. Repeat until you’ve coated all the pretzels, half with milk chocolate, half with white chocolate, and let dry completely, about 24 hours. Cover any remaining chocolate with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator.

3) Enjoy with some of our Pink Pineapple Punch. Read along for the recipe!

Ingredients:

Your favorite Powdered Pink Lemonade
2 cups Pineapple Juice
2 cups Ginger Ale
1/4 cup grenadine (I used cherry juice)
Ice

Directions:

1) Fill a large pitcher with ice and pour in pineapple juice and grenadine. Fill the pink lemonade mix to the 1qt line (about 1/3 cup), add to the pineapple juice and stir until dissolved. Add the ginger ale and mix gently. Add water to fill up the large pitcher. Garnish the pitcher with sliced lemons, pineapples and/or cherries.

2) Serve with fun straws and sip on some sunshine!

Birthday Cake Popcorn

Photo-Aug-15,-1-48-41-PM

Ingredients:

5 cups popped corn
1 (1 1/2 ounce) white chocolate candy melts
1 tablespoon butter, melted
Salt, to taste
1/4 cup rainbow-colored coarse sparkling sugar
2 tablespoons pearl decoratifs

Directions:

1) Place popcorn on two large cookie sheets lined with parchment or a baking mat. Gently heat the white chocolate in the microwave for one minute or until melted, stirring halfway though. Stir in the melted butter. Drizzle over the popcorn and mix with a spatula to coat; be careful, it will be very hot. Toss in the salt and sprinkles. Let cool completely, then break apart any large pieces that are stuck together.
