Off the Beaten Path

“I was first introduced to Pura Vida Bracelets in the summer.  The vibrant colors snatched my attention (so did the wonderful cause behind them), and I would see them being kissed by the sun in the California beach towns where I live. When Pura Vida contacted me to shoot in the fall, I was impressed with how beautifully the the bracelets would pair with deep, dark, and rich-colored outfits for the season. I contacted Taryn, of Velvet Sugar Blog, with the perfect reddish ombre hair and gypsy style to model. We drove through Avila, CA and pulled over in some gorgeous areas along See Canyon on a whim for photos. It’s always an adventure with her!” – Kelsea Holder

“I had the wonderful experience collaborating & photographing with the loveliest Chloe Messmore. She was up for anything. It was an extremely beautiful day in Washington with perfect weather. We wanted to keep it simple & natural with a spark of color from the flowers used a day before in her sister’s wedding.”

“Lauren and I shot at Blackies Beach in Newport Beach, California. We really wanted to show what the Southern California lifestyle means to us– sun, surf, skate, and a living each day to the fullest. Pura Vida bracelets are perfect for us because we can wear them playing at the beach in a bikini, or hanging out with friends, or just having a lazy day at home.”

A Summer’s Day with Photographer Patrick Gray

A Summer’s Day with photographer Patrick Gray!!!

“I chose my models Jillian and Marissa because they are the cutest pair of friends you will ever see.  They have the absolute best time whenever I shoot them together.  I was mostly thinking about getting the right kinds of shots, that would show off the bracelets vibrant colors to the fullest.  Also, I wanted to capture images that made people want to purchase the product rather than just focusing on the quality of the picture.  I wanted a warmth to the shoot that focused on having a great time with your friend, while also adding in great summer vibes everyone is craving.  If I would have to name the shoot it would be something along the lines of, “A Summer’s Day”.  The shoot was nothing glamorous, but instead a casual yet cute take on an average summer day with your best friend.  I’ve always loved this backyard because of the large space and variety of places there are to shoot.  From the rose garden, to the copper tiled pool, there are bright colors everywhere that scream summer and good times.” -Patrick

Summer Flare with Photographer Carley Slater

Summer Flare Photoshoot with photographer Carley Slater!!

“When I was thinking up this shoot, I knew I wanted sunshine, water and all things summer.  When I think of the Pura Vida brand….the first thing that comes to my mind is ‘living free’.  No restrictions and anything goes.  Anyone can wear the brand in any environment.  I just really wanted to capture that free spirit style that I love and try to show some different setups that might describe that.  Living in the midwest…we don’t have the ocean, but we get the benefit of many lakes and country.  So I wanted to portray that in the shoot as much as I could.  Gorgeous water with trees and fields.  The model I chose is actually my younger sister.  The reason I chose her is because she is the market for Pura Vida.  She is beautiful and real.  I captured her as she is and that’s what I wanted.  A real girl wearing a product that she really loves and uses.  She even snapped a few of me at the end too!  We had so much fun!” – Carley

Insta: @sgat“For this shoot I really wanted to showcase the carefree and happy energy Pura Vida gives off.  When I looked for a model, I wanted to work with someone who could be silly and just let loose and Avery was perfect!  The theme I was going for is more of a vibe.  I just wanted to depict those Summer days, where you are hanging with your friends, going on adventures, taking silly photos, drinking sodas, etc.!  I think the location of a photoshoot is one of the main factors that contribute to the vibe you’re going for, which is why I chose to shoot in Midtown.  Midtown is known for it’s artist and “march-to-the-beat-of-your-own-drum” atmosphere, so I immediately knew it would be perfect for shooting with Pura Vida!” – Sara Gatlin
