Seashell wall hanging

July 18, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

IMG_4161.jpg

I think by now, you all know how much I love wall hangings. I think it’s so much fun to change up your space just with a few materials. Not to mention how easy it is! Today, I am going to show you how to make this adorable seashell wall hanging– Perfect for the summer time! Hang this in your room or bathroom. This is also a great way to get creative with your seashell collection. I have WAY too many to keep ahold of, so this craft allowed me to show off my favorites!

Here is what you’ll need

  1. Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  2. Seashells
  3. Fishing wire
  4. Twig/stick
  5. Scissors

Begin by spacing out your shells the way you want them to hang. Do this before gluing them onto the fishing wire.

Next, measure how long you will need your fishing wire to be. This part will totally depend on your preference when it comes to how far apart you want your shells to be. Cut them all the same length.

Once the string has been cut, tie one end of each string to the top of the stick. Place two dots of hot glue on the back of the seashells. One dot of glue being at the top, and the other at the bottom of the shell.

Let all the hot glue dry, then you are free to hang it up anywhere! We are LOVING this beachy look.

What’s in my beach bag?

May 23, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

IMG_0215-960x640.jpg

If you are anything like me, you are a total beach bum. I get out in the sun to play in the waves as many chances as I can get! I mean, who wouldn’t in a little beach town? It’s only my most favorite thing to do–duh! Being prepared to spend the day near the shore is important though. And has a mermaid myself, (wink wink) I thought I would show you what I bring along with me! Let’s get started.

First off, having a happy tummy is always important! I make sure to bring along my all time favorite snack. I like to fuel up with smoothie bowls. They are a fresh, light snack perfect for a hot summers day. Now, I walk to the beach so it’s easy for me to grab and go. However, feel free to pour a smoothie in a to-go thermos and bring it along!

Besides bringing along my favorite wrist stack, here are the essentials to a successful beach day!

-My Shibori round towel (Shop it on the website)

-I keep all my little items such as: my favorite pair of sun glasses, tanning lotion to keep my skin hydrated, chap stick and beach accessories in my Ocean Child Clutch! (Coming to the website SOON!)

I always infuse my water with a few frozen berries! This is a must on a hot beach day.

Who else is exited for all the new summer clutches? How cute is my Ocean Child Clutch??

Pineapple Cinnamon Delight

September 11, 2016 — by Chelsey Bishoff

FullSizeRender-32.jpg

After this recipe you will never go back to eating pineapples and strawberries by themselves. Although delicious, something about the crisp, cinnamon chips enhances all the flavors. Is your mouth watering yet? We hope so! You won’t believe how easy this is to make. Need something to bring to your next get together? This is just the thing. Check it out!

What you’ll need:

  1. One pineapple
  2. One tub of strawberries
  3. Tortillas
  4. Cinnamon & Sugar
  5. Half a stick of butter

Start by chopping up the strawberries into fourths. Once cut and ready, set them aside in a bowl.

Bring out da pineapple!

Cut the pineapple in half. Empty one half to be used as the serving bowl. You can use the pineapple chunks from both sides to mix later with the strawberries!

Processed with Snapseed. Now that you have both fruits cut, you can go ahead and mix them into the pineapple bowl!

Time to cut the tortillas into small triangles to be used as dipping chips

Once cut, put as much cinnamon and sugar as desired and mix into bowl.

Place on baking sheet covered in foil.

Melt your half stick of butter and spread evenly on all the triangle cut outs. After they are evenly buttered, sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar all over.

Place in the over at 350 degrees and bake for about 10 minutes.

Ta-da! Now just wait until you taste it together!

Dip and enjoy!

Yummmm

How To Make Your Next Vacation Life-Changing

August 31, 2015 — by Griffin Thall

LifeChanging-1.jpg

Sometimes we can get stuck in a vacation rut. Here are some tips to make your next trip one you’ll never forget!

Blue-Room

1) Travel by yourself. Go on a solo trip and we promise you’ll learn so many new and different things not only about the place you’re exploring, but also about yourself.

South-Point

2) Travel with a tour group. With popular travel tour groups like Life Before Work, booking your next vacation with a group is a great way to travel with like-minded people within your age range. You are guaranteed to make awesome friends and experience unique adventures in exciting destinations all while using the buddy system. Stay safe!

3) Stay at a local’s house. Skip the expensive hotels and live like a local by booking your accommodations using sites like Airbnb, HomeAway or FlipKey. These sites also offer up a fun variety of housing options including apartments, houses, mansions, houseboats, tree houses and yachts!

@taylorfischer116

4) Talk to the locals. Sure, it’s great to do some pre-trip Internet research on the best beaches, restaurants and activities, but there’s nothing as authentic as local knowledge. When you’re grabbing your morning coffee, politely ask the barista where to go and what to see. Or maybe that cute waiter can guide you in the right direction of the most beautiful secluded beach on the island. This way, you’re guaranteed a whole different kind of trip better than one you could ever read about on some website.

West-Side

5) Take a hike. No matter where you are in the world, your best mode of transportation are your two legs. Grab a map and do some research on some easy day hikes. You’ll find that time slows down, the air becomes fresher and BONUS hiking is a free work out. Woo! More room for dessert.

Turtle

6) Splurge on one excursion. Helicopter ride along the Nā Pali Coast? Sure. Cage diving with sharks in Australia? Yep! Watching baby turtles hatch in Costa Rica? Sign me up. Pick out one epic thing to do on your trip to really make it worth it cuz #yolo. When else will you back at your destination any time soon anyway?
