Seashell wall hanging

July 18, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

IMG_4161.jpg

I think by now, you all know how much I love wall hangings. I think it’s so much fun to change up your space just with a few materials. Not to mention how easy it is! Today, I am going to show you how to make this adorable seashell wall hanging– Perfect for the summer time! Hang this in your room or bathroom. This is also a great way to get creative with your seashell collection. I have WAY too many to keep ahold of, so this craft allowed me to show off my favorites!

Here is what you’ll need

  1. Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  2. Seashells
  3. Fishing wire
  4. Twig/stick
  5. Scissors

Begin by spacing out your shells the way you want them to hang. Do this before gluing them onto the fishing wire.

Next, measure how long you will need your fishing wire to be. This part will totally depend on your preference when it comes to how far apart you want your shells to be. Cut them all the same length.

Once the string has been cut, tie one end of each string to the top of the stick. Place two dots of hot glue on the back of the seashells. One dot of glue being at the top, and the other at the bottom of the shell.

Let all the hot glue dry, then you are free to hang it up anywhere! We are LOVING this beachy look.

Summer bucket list

July 18, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

IMG_4156-960x744.jpg

Summer is my favorite time of year! There is always so much I want to get done during this season. Like camping, beach trips, music festivals and traveling! But making a Summer Bucket List is so much more fun. Every week, pick out one of the sticks with an activity on it. Whatever the popsicle stick reads, that is what summer fun you will be having that week/day. This is also a super easy way to never get bored.

Here is what you’ll need:
1. Popsicle sticks

2. Sharpie

3. Craft paint and spray paint

4. Mason jar

Start by spray painting all the popsicle sticks white! (Or any other color you prefer)

Once the spray paint has dried, take some fun summer colors and paint the tips of the popsicle sticks.

Let all the paint dry.

Next up, start listing different summer activities on each stick.

Once you have finished listing all your summer activities you wish to complete, add them all to the jar. Set the jar somewhere in your room so that it is always available when you and your friends need something exciting to do! Happy Summer!

It’s a super simple glass cylinder wrapped in boho feathers. Set a candle in it and whoa, watch your space GLOW up! SO beautiful. Follow along and watch how to make!

What you will need:

  1. Glass cylinder
  2. Feathers
  3. Hot glue gun + glue
  4. Scissors
  5. Candle + candle holder

Step one: Pick a place to begin on the jar. Start by snipping the end of the feather. You want to leave just a little bit, but majority should be cut off for the best result.

Put a dab of hot glue at the bottom where you will secure the end of the feather stem.

Continue to do this all the way around. We thought it looked best to use a variety of feathers when gluing around the vase.

Once you have covered the glass cylinder, put the candle in the center and place anywhere in your room! We decided to pair ours with a few crystals and salt lamp.

February 10, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

IMG_4810-960x640.jpg

Mmm salty sweet goodness. Need a quick snack to bring over to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with your friends? Here, we have just the treat! This is one of our all time favs and is sure to bring in the party spirit.

What you will need:

1.) White chocolate morsels

2.) Pretzels

3.) Peanut M&M’s (can be substituted with regular)

4.) Popcorn

5.) Chex cereal

6.) Some green sprinkles, green food dye and peppermint extract

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Start by putting the full bag of white chocolate chips in a pan over medium heat. Add some oil to keep it from sticking to the bottom and to keep it smooth. Begin to add in the green food dye. Then, add the peppermint extract. Use this very carefully. (It is very strong) We added only about 2 drops.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Continue to stir until totally smooth. Then start to add your ingredients one by one.

DIY Sweatshirt

February 8, 2017 — by Chelsey Bishoff

IMG_4731-960x1440.jpg

We are all about latest trends, but we’re also all about taking those trends and making it our own. Today we will show you how to take a plain ol’ sweatshirt and spice it up to create a whole new look.

What you’ll need:

-An old sweater and sweatshirt

-Scissors and a razor blade

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Start by cutting around the neck of the shirt.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Take a white pencil and trace what you want your neckline to look like. We are cutting a deep V in ours.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Next, cut along the white line you drew.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Step one is done! Now off to step two. We are now going to cut slits in the shirt. Be intentional about where you choose to cut the holes. You don’t want to add too many.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Go in with a razor blade and gently take it across the fabric to create frays. Do this on the cut outs and wherever else you want.

IMG_4276-1-960x640.jpg

Store your jewelry in style! Today on the blog we are going to walk you step by step on how to make the cutest ring holders. If you’re anything like me, you have far TOO many rings. At the end of the day I tend to usually just throw my rings in a dish, but let me tell ya… that dish is a little passed full and totally overflowing. Now, I have plenty of room to store all my rings safely and fashionably! Your rings are gonna soon look amazing on AND off!

Supplies you’ll need:

-Oven safe clay

-Acrylic paints

-Glossy top coat

-Different size paint brushes

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Start by rolling your clay into a ball. Begin to roll out into a long tube shape. Next, begin to knead the clay until you get it to the cone shape of your liking.

I decided to make mine a few different sizes to keep it interesting. Once you have formed your cones, stick them in the oven at 300 degrees. Let bake for about 15 minutes.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Once you have baked the clay cones for 15 minutes. Pull out of the oven and let cool. Now for the fun part, PAINTING TIME! I went with a metallic gold and bronze and a little bit of black here and there.  You can get as creative as you like! Feel free to make your cones match your style and paint them using any colors or patterns!

After painting, let dry for about 10 minutes. Then, go over the finished product with a glossy top coat for protection and a bit of shine!

Included from personal memories are a few pictures that just bring good vibes and inspo. What better way to reflect on all the adventures you experienced and to also inspire you to do even MORE with 2017!! We will now be using our hot glue to secure the fishing wire on the backs.Processed with VSCO with a6 presetMake sure to space the pictures evenly. Cut the wire as long or as short as needed.Processed with VSCO with a6 presetPut a tiny dot of glue at the top and bottom of the photo. Pull the wire tight enough so there is no slack. This will help the pictures lie flatter. You can also add a dot in the middle for extra security.Processed with VSCO with a6 presetCut a piece of the wire and tie to each end of the branch.
